FUTUYAMA is a Hiphop Soul Jazz Collective making music for the night bus philosophers, the jazz nerds, and the sophisticated party animals.
Inspired by artists like Hiatus Kaiyote, Brotherly, Moonchild, and Knower, FUTUYAMA was born somewhere between a smoky jam session and a conservatory practice room.
With Melani Beric on vocals, Thijs Buijing on trumpet, Dax Hemelrijk on piano, Julian Steineker on double bass, and Jochem Janssen on drums, their concerts feel like a journey; going from heart-touching ballads to high tempo swing, all the way to Drum & Bass.
After playing their first concerts in Arnhem, Nijmegen, and Doetinchem, they are ready to share their addictive energy and music with broader audiences. Besides playing live, they’ve recorded 2 songs and are currently working towards releasing them.
